Adult students is expected to take their courses with a different attitude and different behavior that of a high schooler. The adult student has greater control over their behaviour and has more accountability.

A student of adulthood is accountable for ensuring that the assignments for the class are completed rather than the instructor. The student will be frequently reminding them of their missed or upcoming assignments, but the responsibility to complete the work is the students, and not that of the instructor. A lot of teachers won’t let students work late, or may penalize late work very severely. The majority of the work done in adult classes takes place in the absence of the class.
